    内容简介: Presenting the continuation and bifurcation-based approaches to assess power system voltage stability, this self-contained manual first provides basic definitions related to voltage stability based on IEEE/CIGRE voltage stability classification. Then the need for robust numerical techniques that are needed to address various aspects of voltage instability is articulated. It presents a tutorial introduction to the basic concepts in bifurcation theory and continuation methods. These methods lead to robust numerical techniques for voltage stability study. The book also provides details related to continuation power flow. In addition, it provides the approach to trace voltage stability boundary for changing system conditions and proposes a uniformed framework that provides computational approaches for both short-term and long-term voltage stability phenomena.

    Chapters 1 and 2 provide background material for this book. Chapter 2 reviews

    techniques that can detect the bifurcation points. Chapter 3 discusses the* J" ^7 _( X  q
    application of continuation methods to power system voltage stability and
    , \9 B$ x' I4 m* eprovides extensive coverage on continuation power flow. Chapter 4 presents
    , U+ j2 m) M- o# @/ n& h; jgeneral sensitivity techniques available in the literature that includes2 o( J/ g- n( _: D3 }# {. U& k) K
    margin sensitivity. Chapter 5 introduces voltage stability margin boundary! t+ B* G' @% T# I" i' @
    tracing. This chapter also discusses application of continuation power flow, T! V4 J) B9 U9 ?) o0 C8 H
    for ATC. Chapter 6 finally presents time domain techniques that can capture, P6 o" E+ h9 f/ Y
    short as well as long term time scales involved in voltage stability.
    / _3 D2 Z% \8 ~; S3 RDecoupled time domain simulation is introduced in this chapter. Basic
