Electric Power of Henan(EPH)is one of subsidiaries wholly-owned by State Grid Corporation that has 18 power supply enterprises,2 peaking power plants,6 power project design, construction and repairing & manufacturing enterprises,4 schools and 1hospital.By the end of 2004,the total assets owned by EPH have reached 37,86 billion yuan RMB. As well , there have been nine 500 KV substations with transformation capacity of 7,500 MVA and transmission lines of 8,210.9 km in Henan. The installed capacity in Henan is mainly composed of thermal power generation, with hydro-power generation only accounting for a small part of the total. The installed generation capacity of the entire province reached 24,226.5 MW, of with, 18,050 MW was for power plants dispatched by EPH, and 6,176.5 MW was for local power plants. In 2004, the electricity generation of the entire province reached 116.236 TWh. The social power consumption reached 118.103 TWh. The growth rate of both electricity generation and power consumption exceeded 13%, ranking the top six in the whole China. The trans-regional power transaction finished at 5.24 TWh. The main business revenue realized was 29.59 billion yuan RMB with a profit of 62.37 million yuan RMB. The labor productivity reached 322,000 yuan RMB/person • year. In accordance with new enterprise sizing standards of the State, EPH is a special large-sized State-owned enterprise.
EPH manages and operates the Henan power grids according to the laws of the State, undertakes responsibilities for constructing power grids, training professional talents,ensuring stable power supply to the province as well as meeting demands for national economy development and power supply to general public of Henan.
