The story of transmission line is too long to tell here. It needs a graduate course around 30 hours.  J6 S# t/ f' A4 X

There are following types of line models from simple to sophisticate:
  ^; G1 m4 x0 q+ TPI section (uncoupled and coupled),
: n- H% p) k" a" A; kBegron Line% C  t( Y8 }( s
Modal domain frequency dependent line (J. Marti Model)8 U7 e( x" z! C( E" S
Phase domain frequency dependent line

7 x  I) W, A  s' k6 V( O4 `If you really need to use those models, you can send inquire Manitoba HVDC Centre (who makes PSCAD).
/ S" L* Y2 G& v( W! l- D) O+ \
$ p9 \' F  |! s; h$ E6 f2 kIf you need to understand the theory of those models, you can read EMTP theory book. It is a good start for beginner. The last model is not documented in EMTP theory book. You have to read the paper of Gustavson and Semlyem.

what do you mean?

do you mean the both foundation of the simulate line theory  is the same in the EMTP and PSCAD?
- b9 m+ |- p' W+ @% |if the answer is affirmed.i should to read carefully the EMTP rulebook .

do you konw how to use the " read file" model.the are some mistakes in my simulation. and i don't know what is matter.

how to set parameter to transformer model

i read carefully the  EMTDC Users Guide. is this associate with practice parameter in the normal transformer test? and i can't distill the right parameter for EMTDC form the test such as " no load test" and "short circuit test". what can i do if i what to set right parameter for transformer model?

1. The line model in EMTP and PSCAD is basically the same in theory;5 @3 {# n* D/ n' Y* r' H6 u
2. You got to understand the basic theory of transformer before you simulate it. You are recommended to read electric machinery book. PSCAD of EMTP manual would babysitter those basic ideas such as no load loss or short circuit impedance.......

Some basic course at undergraduate level, such as Electrical Machinery, Power System Analysis, have to be finished before doing simulation with PSCAD or EMTP. It would be almost a requirement the use should have at least first degree to use such complex tools.& V$ V$ T5 f9 d% t- k$ s/ {

this is a complex work

can you give me an example about "transformer model " and "line model" parameter. i can gain the' d2 K/ Y# _0 l
method about to how to  calculate the right parameter. because i have accomplished the prepare with rich foundation of power analysis.

are this examples of the PSCAD? i guess it is . and i know the case .but i can't know how to apply that to the actual transformer.  G5 C) [/ [' q* f/ r& [2 U" _  ^
