Large scale integration of wind and/or wave farms will require innovative integrated( @# M& Z* J, _8 B G
approaches for the design of the energy conversion system, the layout of the farm itself, the ' C$ {: N6 [( M& w0 }& ?$ bdistribution system of the farm, and for the transmission of power to the distant shore.9 v+ x! b3 i; R8 w* X% u+ o
Conventional generation and power electronic conversion systems will be revised and adapted* I! X) _0 Z( _; O% u8 O" q
to the harsh conditions and stricter requirements of offshore installations.
