economic stimulus packages. Some of these plans will provide short-term boosts,

2 D' R, e" s# s8 \3 c) p) @" J0 rclean energy an integral part of their plans, governments can deliver jobs and
4 n% v9 P' c' S0 \7 W9 @. qeconomic growth while also ensuring that their energy systems are modernised,
) B; k. T* r, |8 S, I& K8 _: Emore resilient and less polluting.
% Y# m1 ^8 v, s' l3 u6 JGlobal confinement has halted travel and transport, causing a severe shock
to energy systems. As a result, it is likely that global carbon dioxide emissions
/ V7 {! J% m. r9 U' Swill decline this year. But that will not be anything to celebrate. What matters is
$ T; Z8 A2 W( Q3 V. [putting emissions into structural decline. For that, we will need clean energy to
play a central role in recovery efforts. This is an inter-generational opportunity,

' q# G& ^) t* S4 I3 ^$ y- Y- Qour climate commitments, including the Paris Agreement. We need to make the

3 V5 `9 p$ F& K$ Wbattery storage - top priorities for creating jobs, improving critical infrastructure
