IEEE Canada-- Electrical Power and Energy Conference--Advanced Technologies for Emerging Power System

Over the years, EPEC has developed a rich history of innovation both in technology and policy within Canada. The objective of EPEC 2011 is to provide a forum for experts in Electrical Power and Energy to disseminate their recent research outcomes and exchange views on the future research directions of these fields.

The EPEC11 conference welcomes papers in many topics related to the Advanced Technologies for Emerging Power Systems. Before submitting a paper, please refer to the Information for Authors page to learn about the style and format for submissions.Topics
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:[*]HVDC & FACTS[*]Project developments, including voltage source converter (VSC) dc transmission[*]Application for renewable energy systems[*]Advances in study and analysis tools[*]Power quality issues and solutions[*]HVdc supergrids[*]Smart Grid[*]Smart Grid concepts and pilot projects[*]Electric vehicles (grid impacts, standards)[*]Advanced metering infrastructure[*]On-line dynamic security assessment[*]Smart sensors including dynamic equipment rating and condition assessment methods[*]Applications of phasor measurement units[*]Energy Storage[*]Distribution system automation and control[*]Wind Power & Solar[*]Challenges with integration of variable generation[*]New technology development[*]Computational Methods[*]Computational methods in power system planning, operation and control[*]Probabilistic planning and risk analysis[*]Reliability centered maintenance and asset management[*]Advanced Technology Developments[*]Fault current limiters[*]Energy conservation and efficiency

Information for Authors

EPEC 2011 proceedings are included in EI Compendex, IEEEXplore and ISI Proceedings. 这点可以满足国人的需要,呵呵。

The SCI and EI those things might be very useful for those bio-medical research area. For engineering such as electrical power, no one is actually caring those in the main stream circle. In these days many students were pushed to the corner to make the papers. It is in fact that the adviser professor should decide whether a student can graduate instead of the SCI/EI people, who is thousands miles away.

There is no any hard index. The adviser usually is the one who decide if the student can graduate.
The responsibilty of the advisers, especially estabished guys, is to avoid any garbage paper with his name listed, instead of have any more papers, no matter SCI or EI.

I understand requirement now at in China is a very complicated thing. Maybe it is the best possible to have. We know the problem, but don't know the solution.

Good luck for rest of your Ph.D. journey.
