Transco,DistCo,and PoolCo,is designedforthe power industry fromthe point of view of
unbundling the generation, transmission, and distribution functions.1be material covered in this
course includes the basic responsibilities of GenCo, TransCo, DistCo, and PoolCo along with the
other fundamental theoretical background required for power systems engineers.Of course, some
of the responsibilities are not very clear because many changes will occur depending on the social
and political conditions within various countries.It is believed that this isthe first text designed to
discuss power industry deregulation issues.However, it is not theintent to cover everything in
great detail, nevertheless it includes discussion on the state-of-the-art of today's power industry.
Itisstronglybelievedthatderegulationwillhaveprofoundandimportantimplicationson
