7 Z5 u, m0 N, k( F! ?Dr. Muthumuni is currently the Engineering Studies and Simulations Department Manager and has 17 years of experience in simulation and engineering studies. During his career, he has used a variety of simulation products including PSCAD, PSSS/E, and others. Formerly the PSCAD Technical Sales Manager, Dr. Muthumuni is regularly sought out by clients around the world for his technical knowledge as a simulation specialist on power system behavior, model development and simulation studies. He has been responsible for leading the development of the PSCAD technical training materials and has taught hundreds of courses on simulation, power system % Z% q, D# t- |# t7 i+ d+ K( ~6 @. c! e6 @; t/ l. a
behavior and studies. Dr. Muthumuni also continues to take an active role in the developing new models of power system apparatus for transient simulation studies, working closely with equipment manufacturers to develop detailed simulation models. He is currently involved with developing a multi-terminal HVDC model as an example. His work includes the development and validation testing of detailed machine models, development of models for wind power and solar application and complex magnetic fault current limiter models. Now, as head of the MHRC’s studies department, Dr. Muthumuni is leading the technical team to solve challenging blackstart # }5 B- ]' I; u W9 h: m& N

and interconnection issues involved in the studies for a key middle Eastern country’s power utility supporting projects which involve the integration of multiple regions into one for the whole country. * v; z, \6 x, x: l5 \( _
